Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

How fit do I need to be to climb Mount Rinjani?

Mount Rinjani is a challenging trek. While technical climbing skills are not required, you need a very good level of physical fitness and stamina. You will be walking for 6-9 hours a day on steep ascents and descents. We highly recommend doing regular cardio exercises (running, swimming, or stair climbing) for at least a month prior to your trek.

Do you accommodate special dietary requirements?

Absolutely! Our porters are trained to cook delicious meals on the mountain. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal diets. Please inform us about your dietary restrictions during the booking process so we can prepare accordingly.

Can I leave my extra luggage during the trek?

Yes, you can safely leave your extra luggage at our basecamp in Senaru before the trek begins. You only need to carry your daypack with essentials (water, jacket, camera, personal items) during the hike. Our porters will carry the heavy camping equipment and food.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety is our absolute priority. The Rinjani National Park authority may close the mountain if weather conditions (like heavy rain or strong winds) become dangerous. If this happens before your trek, we will offer alternative dates or a refund. If bad weather hits during the trek, our experienced guides will make the final call on whether it is safe to proceed to the summit.

Do I need to tip the guides and porters?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is highly customary and deeply appreciated in Indonesia. Our guides and porters work incredibly hard to ensure your safety and comfort. If you are happy with their service, a general guideline is pooling a tip from the group at the end of the trek. We can provide recommended amounts upon request.
